The Discipline and Practice of Strategy

Professionals progressing from exercising the authority and responsibilities of a journeyman to the rank of executive leadership need to recognize and formulate effective strategies. The Discipline and Practice of Strategy program provides knowledge of strategy as a specific discipline, an awareness of its application to the special class of challenges that truly warrant its exercise, and a toolkit for thinking strategically, formulating strategies, and acting with strategic coherence. The content of the course is organized around three purposes: Teach the discipline of strategy, illustrate the application of that discipline, and convey a toolkit of strategic thinking and action which the students can apply in a practical exercise. Those who succeed in the course will have learned the habits of mind and repertoire of actions that constitute a practical discipline of strategy.
