Master of Arts in International Relations

The 40-credit master’s in international relations is an advanced foundational education preparing students to develop evidence-based solutions to address international issues. The core of the program offers students a solid foundation in international management, leadership, research design, statistics, and economics. Elective courses offer students an interdisciplinary understanding of international affairs based on their topical and/or regional area of interest. Students specialize in one of six career tracks and may study abroad. Coursework for this program is offered at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York; Washington, DC; and at a range of sites around the globe. This 16-month program is targeted at early career professionals. It includes a practical work experience where students can apply their skillset in a professional environment. The degree is finalized via a capstone experience.
